Welcome, precious stone of the night,
Delight of the skies, precious stone of the night,
Mother of stars, precious stone of the night,
Child reared by the sun, precious stone of the night,
Excellency of stars, precious stone of the night.

I used a Canon EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 II lens, cranked all the way to 300mm, to capture this picture. Note that this picture is a 100% crop of the center of the frame, as opposed to most of the photos on the site that are scaled way down to fit. Still, even though I don't have a higher resolution version of this one to be able to print, I was still surprised how well it turned out and how much detail you can see.

Actually, you might be looking at a more expensive version of that lens. Mine doesn't have any of the image stabilization features or anything, and the newer revision of it sells brand new right now for $160 or so.
