It was getting close to sunset, and I was walking along the trail at Barton park. I kept hearing a distorted voice in the distance that I couldn't identify. I thought maybe it was a police officer using their cruiser's PA system to give someone a hard time, but the only road even close by was the mostly deserted Huron River Drive, and it seemed rather unlikely. So, I get toward the end of the trail and cross over the bridge by the dam, and I see exactly what was making the noise. It looks like the U of M rowing team was out for a winter practice - and their coach was yelling at them through a bullhorn from a motorized rowboat. According to the schedule on their website, they actually have competitions in Michigan during the month of March, so I guess the cold weather practice wasn't out of place.
